What drives it down: catching a spring before it breaks, when it's just sagging or losing tension, rather than after it snaps and takes a cable with it. We quote the job after we see the door, not off a phone description, because two doors that look the same from the driveway can be running completely different hardware underneath.

Torsion and extension springs are rated for a set number of open-close cycles, and they don't usually give much warning before they go.
